Am I a Weeaboo?

Now, this is me addressing something that has been bugging me for a long time; and that is a few people calling me a weeaboo, when I am not one.

Here's the REAL definition of weeaboo:

weeaboo (plural weeaboos)

(derogatory) A person who behaves or seeks to appear stereotypically Japanese.

Now here is what most people who run around calling people weeaboos THINK it means:

Almost everyone who is overly obsessed with anime/manga/video game/anything from Japan. (This is just a general summary of what people think.)

Here's the definition of Otaku:

Otaku (おたく / オタク?) (oh-tah-kooh) is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, or video games.

Do you see what I'm getting at? The thing is, it's fine and dandy if you plan to call someone a weeaboo...IF YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS!!! By definition I AM AN OTAKU! NOT a weeaboo, why? because I am intensely obsessed with anime/manga/video games/etc....but I in NO WAY want to become Japanese! I DO NOT run around screaming "OMG KAWAII!! DESU DESU NE!!~" (I actually want to shoot thoses people some days). I like Japanese culture and want to learn the language but that is alot different then wanting to become a Japanese. I love who I am, Canadian, with an Irish/Scottish/French/British/general european background, and I love that and I love different cultures besides Japan's (which it seems, some people are too narrow minded to see past anime to see anything else), and I want to learn other languages besides Japanese as well.

Just so everyone out there knows, I don't mind being called an otaku since I sometimes refer to myself as one; But I hate being called a weeaboo, sometimes just for talking to someone that is kinda one(but really if you do that your a douche), also when ever someone calls someone in general even if they are a weeaboo, normally means they are a weeaboo and don't want anyone to know(almost always true, that or they're filling a void with more douche). So I don't call people weeaboos, ever. Well....except once......after they called me a weeaboo; anyone else after that I just sort of ignored with a passion.

So...This is my rant, and now it is complete.
